Where Do I Begin?

It’s time to start over again. I thought I was already doing that, but new opportunities continually expand my horizon. The objective in life and business is to keep it simple, always find the joy, and build a foundation for consistent growth. If you’re an entrepreneur, or a regular human, you may understand the “shiny object syndrome”. I’ve been there, have been infected by it, and have made a conscious choice to keep a clear focus away from it.

Alluring Shiny Objects

They are everywhere, especially online these days since almost everyone had been confined to their living spaces. If you’ve had an experience with this, you know just how dangerous it can be. Shiny objects in business might be someone offering their patented, super-duper way of creating a business that looks ten times better than what you have done. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case and you end up like a jilted lover holding an assortment of forms and strategies that are just not working for you. In your desperation to regain ground, you find another system that looks “better”. Do you invest your time, money, and energy again? What can you do to prevent the same turnout? How do you know which shiny object is really the component you were looking for to make significant progress without investing so much of yourself and resources?

Practical Plus Abstract Insight

Whether it’s a personal or business venture you’re thinking about investing time, energy, and money into, there are a few key actions you can take to make sure you don’t end up jilted, or jilted again.

* Step back

* Take a walk or a nap

* Ask (God) for wisdom

* Take inventory: what do you already have, what do you need?

* Sift through the information: do you absolutely need what’s being offered?

* Look for reviews or testimonials and read as many as possible since several may not be authentic

* Trust your gut instinct: if you’ve done the above steps, your intuition is usually your spirit giving you the correct answer from the source of wisdom you’ve asked, trust it.

If you find that you’re really just looking for community, then make that your mission. It’s important to find your people, those who you resonate with, who are going in the same direction and reaching for the steps to rise above where they are right now.

When The Shift Hit The Fan

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may have read one from 2020 called “When The Shift Hits The Fan”. You can go back to read it because I think I’m a little funny while explaining what it looked like at the time and how I sort of caused it. On the other hand, I can tell you that it’s not hard to see that you do play a part in creating what comes next or even what comes after a couple of steps. I’m not talking about Law of Attraction, although learning more about that has helped me understand more about how appropriate prayer works. So, it looks like I have some ‘splaining to do. Here’s the prayer connection and what appropriate prayer is.

Life keeps moving, you need to keep moving in one way or another, so you may as well use your personal responsibility to make your better choices. I believe that God has your road map and prayer is your communication with Him. In that communication, we are told that when we ask with faith, that issue will be resolved. Not just a little faith, but complete faith without doubt that the solution is already there. Therefore, being in alignment with the road map of your life, the Master Plan, makes it easier to move forward taking the right fork in the road, the right path, either more or less traveled. Through your spirit, you can learn to come into alignment with God’s Spirit which yours is an image of, a reflection of everything you need to live excellently and fulfill your purpose on this earth.

The Prayer Catch

Now you have at least an idea of appropriate prayer and spirit/Spirit alignment. It’s all in your hands, you already have everything you need in your spirit to live a good and godly life. There’s a small catch. Usually when people pray, they have an idea of how they want things to go or turn out and they pray that as an answer to how it should be resolved. This is when God is probably laughing, thinking, “Oh how cute, they think they know better, yet they’re asking me to take care of it.” Seriously, if you are an expert in your field and someone asks you to do something for them, do you think they will have better suggestions than what you already know is the best way? Of course not! Even more so when you ask God, or the Higher Power that is bigger than you with more knowledge and understanding of the bigger picture. It’s best not to pray the solution or an exact way you expect things to turn out. First, because you may not recognize the answer when it appears and second, because you are limiting the power of God to your own understanding which is like a grain of sand on the seashore of life, miniscule to say the least.

Learning The Lesson

I’m sure I’ve learned this lesson a couple of times in different ways, but the more often the answer sticks in my mind, the better it gets. Each lesson that teaches you helps you build a stronger foundation for the next time a wave ebbs or flows around you. You begin peeling the layers more easily, with more resolve, knowing who you authentically are, what you need, and how you can humbly move forward with confidence in your purpose.  I can assuredly share this with you since I have learned a lesson from standing strong in the face of shiny objects; I have put myself through my coaching before directing anyone else; I have learned that we all have separate journeys to learn the same basic lessons and I cannot be arrogant when I find a gem that shines, but I can use it to light the way for others.
